Xi helped soothe trade war fears with plans to further open up the country's economy, including significantly reducing import tariffs for automobiles, improving market access for foreign investors, and better enforcing intellectual property rights of foreign firms.

Facebook jumps 4.5% as Zuckerberg faces Senate questions (still going now, some questions are very stupid). TWTR +5.4%, SNAP +2.3%, GOOG +1.6%.

Sprint (S +17.2%) and T-Mobile (TMUS +5.7%) have restarted deal talks, again. VZ +2.9%, T +1.8%.

Crude price jumps (USO +3.7%) as Syria is causing big trouble again. XLE +3.3%, Exxon Mobil XOM +2.9% as BofA Merrill Lynch adds to US 1 List. DVN +6.8%, RRC +6.1%, NFX +6.1%, HP +5.6%, PXD +5.3%, CXO +5.3%, COP +2.8%, CVX +2.5%, APC +3.3%...

NVDA +5.8% after receiving upgrades. MU +5.3%, STX +5.4%, WDC +2.4%, Semiconductor sector SOXX +3.2%.

Bayer (OTCPK:BAYRY +6.3%) surges following yesterday's WSJ report that DOJ will allow the German company to acquire Monsanto (MON -0.1%).

Chain store beaten down stocks are strong today: SMRT +16.9%, FTD +10.6%, FRED +4.7%, GES +4.1%, ETSY +8.3%, DXLG +6.1%, TLRD +4.6%...

Losers

Airlines swing from big gains to loss. UAL -1.4% said Q1 revenue should come in at the high end of guidance, and capacity at the low end. AAL -4.7% sees Q1 TRASM up 3-4% vs. 2-4% previous guidance, and CASM up 3% vs. 2.5% previous guidance. LUV -1.3%, DAL -0.4%...

YY -2.4%, was down more than 5% in the mid-day. Its game streaming unit Huya files for American-share IPO. In its F-1 filing, the company said in 2017 it drew total net revenues of $335.8M ($318.1M of that from live streaming, with the remainder listed as advertising and other); gross profit of $39.2M; and a net loss attributable to ordinary shareholders of $15.5M. Average monthly active users number 86.7M; there's 99 minutes spent on app per day per active user; and it covers more than 2,600 videogames.

My Trades Today

Sold half NVDA @ $228, semiconductor sector has been a battleground lately. I prefer day-trade or ultra-short-term trading at this point.
